Embarking on a waxing or sugaring session can be exciting and nerve-wracking, especially if it’s your first time. Whether you’re new to sugaring or a seasoned enthusiast, it’s completely normal to experience a range of reactions during the process, and there’s no need to feel embarrassed or anxious. My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can enjoy the benefits of hair removal.

As a professional esthetician, I’m here to reassure you that these common reactions to sugaring are essential to the hair removal journey. At The V Lady, you are leaning into self-care and a journey that celebrates your body and prioritizes your comfort.

Let’s discuss some of the perfectly normal things that may happen during your sugaring or waxing session:

Common Reactions to Waxing and Sugaring

Every client’s experience is unique and certain reactions are common during a sugaring or waxing session. I embrace the diversity of responses, ensuring you feel at ease throughout the process. I’ve seen it all, from slight sweating to occasional jumps or kicks, and my focus remains on providing you with a positive and relaxed experience.

Sweating During Your Hair Removal Session

Don’t sweat it if you start perspiring during your waxing or sugaring session. Sweating is a natural bodily response to stress or heightened emotions.

The sensation of waxing or sugaring can trigger the release of stress hormones, leading to a slight increase in body temperature. I get it, it is completely out of your control, and I don’t mind. Remember, I’ve seen it all and focus on ensuring your comfort and satisfaction throughout the process. Sweating during hair removal will not affect your session and is something you shouldn’t worry about.

Vaginal Discharge During Brazilian Hair Removal

Some clients may experience vaginal discharge during a Brazilian wax or sugaring session. I know, I can see you cringe at the thought, but ladies, it is SO natural, and there is nothing to be ashamed of.

Discharge is common and happens. There’s no need to feel embarrassed about it – as a professional, I understand that our bodies can react differently to various situations.

Reflex Responses: Jumping and Kicking

It’s not uncommon for clients to exhibit slight reflex responses during waxing or sugaring.

Waxing and sugaring can be slightly uncomfortable, especially in more sensitive areas. Jumping or kicking is a natural response to sudden sensations. Rest assured, I’m well-prepared to handle these movements and ensure your safety during the session.

Coping With Discomfort With The Urge to Grab

The urge to hold onto something during the treatment is also quite common. Grabbing the sides of the table or even your own hands is perfectly normal to cope with any momentary discomfort. My top priority is your comfort, and I encourage you to find a comfortable position or grip that helps you feel at ease.

Menstruation

If you happen to have your period during your scheduled appointment, there’s no need to reschedule. Sugaring or waxing during menstruation is completely safe. However, some individuals might experience increased sensitivity during this time. Feel free to communicate any concerns, and I’ll adjust the session to ensure your comfort.

It is important that you clean the area prior to us getting started. I do have unscented, medical-grade wipes available for use. Please note that I need you to wear a tampon or a cup during the session.

Clammy Hands and Feet

Waxing or sugaring can be an unfamiliar experience for some, leading to nervousness or anxiety. Clammy hands and feet are common and do not impact the treatment in any way. I know getting on a table and leaving all modesty behind can be daunting, so this is just another one of those things that happens more than you think.
