Sugar

The hair is removed by scooping the sugar paste into the hair going against the direction of the hair growth. It is then removed using a repeated flicking motion in the same direction as your body hair growth to remove the hair from the root.

There is lower risk of ingrown hairs because the hairs are coming out in the direction of growth, not against it.

Made from a simple blend of all-natural ingredients that includes sugar, lemon, and water. Thats it.

This will vary from person to person, depending on your pain threshold. There is a bit of discomfort as the hair comes out by the root. However, unlike waxing, Sugaring doesn’t require heat, so it may be more comfortable for those who are sensitive to the heat of wax. When done properly, you will feel discomfort, but you should not be in pain.

Avoid caffeine (coffee or soda) before your appointment, as that can contribute to discomfort. You may also benefit from taking an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory or pain reliever, such as ibuprofen, prior to your appointment. Please refer to your doctor before taking any medications. There are several tips and tricks that I use to help alleviate discomfort, such as applying pressure to the area, and breathing exercises. I do everything that I can to make you as comfortable as possible.

Wax

Hot wax is applied on top of the hair, in the direction of growth. Once the wax is cool and has hardened, the strip is quickly removed in the opposite direction of the hair growth, removing hair from the root.

Some hair types can be prone to ingrowns from waxing because the hairs are bent backwards during removal. It’s best to discuss this possibility with your hair removal professional and be sure to use proper home care products to counteract this.

Waxes will vary with their ingredient lists from beeswax to polymers (plastics), resins, dyes chemicals, and preservatives. If you have questions or allergies, please don't hesitate to ask your hair removal professional.

Hair removal is uncomfortable. Waxes are designed to be heated and melted to use, so there is a hot sensation included with waxing. Cold months, or certain times during our menstrual cycle can make that heat feel hotter. Some describe it as a stinging sensation.
